Mini Charm Placemat | FREE Beginner EPP Pattern

Welcome to English Paper Piecing! If you’re brand new to EPP, you’re in exactly the right place. We designed the Mini Charm Placemat as a simple first project to help you learn the basics, make your first stitches, and actually finish something you can use.

Made with classic 1" Hexagons and 1" Half-Hexagons, this beginner-friendly English Paper Piecing pattern is designed around one 42-piece Mini Charm Pack, so choosing fabric is already taken care of. Have scraps instead? Those work beautifully, too!

You’ll practice the basic EPP process as you baste your shapes, join your hexagons with a whip stitch, and build them into simple columns. When your EPP is complete, quilt and bind your piece to create a colorful 22" x 17-3/8" placemat.
