Have an English Paper Piecing design in your sketchbook, on your sewing table, or already published?
We’d love to see it.
Through the Paper Pieces Designer Royalty Program, we partner with independent quilt pattern designers to create custom Paper Piece Packs and Acrylic Templates for original EPP projects.
You keep ownership of your pattern and continue selling it through your own website. Paper Pieces develops and manufactures the coordinating products, fulfills customer orders, links customers back to you for the pattern, and pays royalties on qualifying product sales.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re especially interested in working with designers who understand quilt pattern development and are ready to bring a well-developed project to market.
That may mean you already have an established pattern business, a catalog of published designs, industry experience, or an audience that knows your work.
But experience doesn’t always mean years in business.
If you’re a newer designer with a strong original concept, a thoughtful pattern, and a professional approach to developing and testing your work, we still want to hear from you.
What matters most is the project itself and your ability to carry it through to a finished, customer-ready pattern.
What Makes a Strong Submission?
We’re drawn to English Paper Piecing projects that have a clear identity and give stitchers a reason to reach for pre-cut Paper Pieces.
When reviewing submissions, we consider things like:
- Originality and overall design
- How naturally the project works with English Paper Piecing
- Customer appeal
- Piece count and production feasibility
- Skill level and clarity of construction
- How the project fits within our current Paper Pieces assortment
- The designer’s readiness to produce a professional, tested pattern
- Our current production capacity and launch calendar
We’re always excited to see something we haven’t seen before, but a project doesn’t have to be complicated to be compelling. Sometimes a strong shape combination, clever construction, or fresh point of view is enough to make a design stand out.
Your Pattern Stays Yours
One of the things we love most about this program is that it allows designers to keep control of their own work.
You continue to own and sell your pattern through your own website. Paper Pieces creates the coordinating Paper Piece Packs, Acrylic Templates, and other approved supporting products.
When customers discover your project through Paper Pieces, we link them directly back to you to purchase the pattern.
What Paper Pieces Handles
Once a project is accepted, our team works with you to develop the coordinating products and prepare them for production.
Paper Pieces handles manufacturing, inventory, fulfillment, and customer service for the Paper Pieces-produced products.
We’ll also coordinate launch timing, product pricing, and marketing details with you as the project moves toward release.
Accepted designers receive an Operating Agreement outlining royalties, responsibilities, and the details of the collaboration.
Do I Need a Finished Pattern Before I Submit?
Not necessarily.
We’re happy to review a well-developed concept, pattern in progress, mockup, or finished project.
You do need to give us enough information to understand the design, shapes, construction, and intended finished project.
Before launch, accepted projects will need a complete, professional, tested pattern.
A Note About Submissions
We accept a limited number of designer collaborations each year based on production capacity and our launch calendar.
Not every good design will be the right fit at the right time. We may approve a project as submitted, suggest changes, place it on hold for a future season, or decline it based on our current assortment and capacity.
A declined project is not necessarily a reflection of the quality of the design.
