Jess' Birthday Gift to Everyone

This week is Jess' birthday week! She's turning some version of 29, and she's giving us a gift! Click here to check out her massive birthday sale, and get there before I do because I'm eyeing all the things! I thought it would be fun to learn some Jess trivia- the woman beyond the needle!

What's your best birthday gift you can remember? It's really hard to chose just one! Last year I was making a Target run on my birthday-eve. Mom handed me $50 and said "Happy Birthday, I have one rule. You can ONLY spend this on yourself." As a new mom, it was close to impossible, but it felt really great! (Don't worry, I saved some for Hancock's of Paducah!)

Any other memorable gifts? A few years ago I made a Be My Bunny quilt to donate to a local silent auction charity fundraiser. I used Tula Pink's Holiday Homies and it was so stinkin' cute! I told JoAnne I was a little sad to let it go, and was thinking of making a second. A few weeks later, on my birthday, she handed me a gift...inside was the quilt! She won it at silent auction and gifted it back to me! 

Who's coming to your birthday party? This year we're going to see the Christmas lights at Patti's 1800's Settlement with some friends and their kiddos, too! 

If you could have any celebrity come to your birthday party, who is it? Mmm, that's easy. Dolly Parton. (Do you think she would enjoy sewing?!)

You have the house to yourself for the day- what are you doing with that time? Oh this would be the best present of all. I would spend the day making my sewing room/office semi-organized and then finish quilting my best friend's wedding quilt (I'm only 10 months behind!) 

What do you pick for your birthday dinner? This year in Houston, I became a lover of Charcuterie, so I'd have to go that route. A taste of everything!

What about your birthday cake? Cookie Cake.

Is there anything, quilty or non-quilty, that you'd really like to open this year? Well, this could be 'both' because I would wear it while stitching: an UGG robe. Have you felt how soft they are?!

What's it like to have a birthday so close to Christmas? When I was very young, I used to complain that I never received gifts in the summer, they were all clumped together in December! As an adult, I'm very unbothered by it. I'm a proud Sagittarius! 

What's one thing you'd like to accomplish before your next birthday? I really want to finish a few of my WIPs so I have the headspace for new projects and designs!
